Common Questions
No. Completion of our certification course satisfies the training requirement for most permit applications, but permit issuance is determined solely by your local issuing authority based on background checks, eligibility requirements, and their discretion. Requirements vary by state and county.
Any legally owned handgun in good working condition is acceptable. We recommend bringing the firearm you intend to carry. All students must qualify with their own firearm(s).
Plan to bring at least 50 rounds of factory-loaded ammunition for the live-fire qualification. We recommend 100 rounds to allow for practice prior to the qualification course of fire.
Our certification meets requirements for permit applications in this state. Reciprocity with other states depends on their individual laws. We recommend checking the reciprocity agreements for any state where you intend to carry.
No prior experience is required, but we strongly recommend completing our Firearms Safety & Fundamentals course first. Students with no prior experience are welcome — our instructors will ensure you are safe and prepared for the live-fire portion.
